Getting Started

I signed up for OneTantra, so now what?

The first step is to join our social network. After clearing our membership validation process (including payment and credit card authorization, and agreeing to our Terms of Use), should see a page with a link to enter the social network. If not, then contact our Customer Support service. After you enter, fill out the profile, and upload a picture. We are a "radical honesty" communication and urge you to use your real name and real picture. However, we also realize that it takes time to trust, so if you wish, use a representative tantric image for a photo and only your first name. But do move toward using your real identity and photo, because most members find it easier to identify and trust someone they can see.

I have signed up for OneTantra, but I'm hitting all sorts of technical glitches!

Our system is brand new, so we do have some minor bugs around the site. If your experience of our system seems totally wrong, it is likely you could be using an outdated browser.  Internet Explorer 6, the AOL browser, and some other lesser used browsers do not work well as they are not equip with the technology to run most modern websites. We recommend that you download firefox.  Please email us with any bugs you find.

Member Blogs

How do I blog?

First, go to your This is Me page. Then look for the Add a Blog Post button/link. Then blog away, baby!

How do I grow my blog readership?

Adding friends is the best way to grow your readership. This is like a party, go say hi, and be interested in what they're up to. Join conversations. And add them as friends.

Is what I blog kept secret?

To set the privacy for your photos, blogs and posts, simply go to This is Me, click Settings and click on Privacy. You can then fix it so only friends can read what you share. However, our recommendation is to set your posts and blogs to be readable by other OneTantra members. We also have a news services called The Tantric News, and our editors may approach you to republish a particularly brilliant post outside the garden wall. However, if they do, they will provide YOU with creative attribution. You can decline or use a pseudonym if you wish, as the republication of your post will be searchable by search engines. If you'd like to be a blogger or editor for The Tantric News, just let us know.

Friendship

What is a OneTantra friend?

Friends is a way for you to connect with other people on the site. Once you are friends, you will be automatically subscribed to their blogs, and will be notified when they add a new intent. A couple other notes on friends:

- Adding someone as a friend on OneTantra doesn't nessessarily mean you have to be their... um...tantra partner.  It's just a way of saying, hey, I'm your fan!
- If a friend is overwhelming you with blog and/or intent notifications, you can always remove them later.
- If a newfound friend starts acting creepy, please let us know.

Why is everybody being so nice to me, is this a cult?

Our social network aims to be the cocker spaniel of social networks. We're in your face, licking, the instant you're in the door. Don't worry, we're not selling you anything, we're just creating a context of profound love and connection. At OneTantra, you have permission to love people you barely know. Oh, and we're not a cult.

What's a SEAL Team member?

Our SEALs (which stands for Spirituality, Energy, Aliveness and Love) are your personal online bodhisattvas. They're here to help you reach online nirvana. They're generally tantra instructors, who have risen to a higher level of participation and service. When you're ready, consider joining the SEAL Team.

Profile Stuff

I registered, but did not receive a confirmation email, what do I do?

It is likely the confirmation email could have gone to your spam. If the email is not there, please contact Customer Service, and we'll work it out.

I don't like having my real name show up on my profile. How do I change this?

If you are uncomfortable with having your real identity show up on search engines, remember that this is a private network, not searchable by web crawlers. If you must, simply go to This is Me, click Settings and change your Full Name. Replace your first and last name with an internet alias that you are comfortable to go by. Please remember that we are a "radical honesty" communication and urge you to use your real name and real picture. However, we also realize that it takes time to trust, so if you wish, use a representative tantric image for a photo and only your first name. But do move toward using your real identity and photo, because most members find it easier to identify and trust someone they can see. The most important thing is to reveal your  true relationship status. If you're married but checking this out without your spouse knowing... either say "I'm in the poly closet" or go talk about tantra with your wife.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, you must first be logged in. From there, go to your This is Me page, and click Settings on the right side of the page, then Profile on the left, and then Change password.

How do I delete my profile?

Gosh, we're sorry to see you go! But if you'd like to be removed from our community- please contact Customer Service with the request. Be sure to include your username. It is not enough to simply delete your profile for click on the Leave Onetantra link in your Profile.

All these e-mail notifications are driving me crazy! How do I make them stop?

Easy as pie. Simply go to This is Me, click Settings, and then Email. Then uncheck the notifications you want to stop receiving.

My profile photo looks weird, how do I fix it?

Sorry, this system we're using only uses square photos. So upload a square photo. We ARE going to switch to a custom coded social network, optimized for spiritual people, so that's coming.

If you cannot find an answer here, please do not hesitate to contact Customer Service with your question, rave, issue or lovebomb.

What is ShaktiPoints?

ShaktiPoints is a user point-system used in the OneTantra social network. It shows how active you are and how helpful you have been to others. ShaktiPoints will only be activated ONLY after you have uploaded a picture in your user profile. The number of points doesn't matter, it's just an indicator. We'll occasionally award prizes to those with the highest level of ShaktiPoints.
